Avenquiet Study / Privacy
Avenquiet Study privacy policy
Effective . Applies to the Avenquiet Study Microsoft Edge extension, version 1.3.1. Published by Pruthviraj Sonawane (thesyscoder).
This policy describes the extension, not a promise that websites you visit have the same data practices. It is publicly available without an account or an installed extension.
Purpose and information processed
Avenquiet helps you study with a single regular tab, approved study domains, timed focus blocks, and social-media blocking. It accesses regular tab URLs to enforce navigation and create user-requested tab backups. Backups store eligible URLs and pinned status, including local file paths when applicable.
The extension stores your chosen course URL and approved domains, timer and break settings, learning goal, session deadlines and progress, blocked-tab counts, error messages, and saved tab backups in this browser profile. Learning receipts contain the goal, course domain, session dates, timed focus, block counts, outcome, and any reflection or next step you write.
Avenquiet does not read course-page text, form contents, cookies, saved passwords, payment details, or browser-stored account credentials. It examines tab URLs in memory to reject unsafe links, which can include links with embedded credentials; these rejected URLs are not saved. It does not automatically collect page contents. You should not enter sensitive information in goals or receipts.
URL safeguards and consent
URLs with embedded credentials, query parameters, fragments, or recognized login/recovery paths are not accepted as stored course URLs or backups. If another tab cannot be safely backed up, starting focus fails before changing or closing tabs. Close such tabs manually or use a clean course URL. This is a conservative safeguard, not a guarantee that every possible secret embedded in a URL path can be identified. Unsafe legacy saved URLs are removed during upgrade, and the extension reports that they can no longer be restored.
Before starting, continuing, or resuming focus you must confirm saved work. Focus closes other regular tabs across browser windows and redirects navigation outside approved domains. URL backups cannot recover unsaved edits, scroll position, or page state. Restart, extension reload, loss of the study tab, or removal of required website access pauses focus without automatically closing or redirecting another tab.
Website access and network activity
Optional website access is requested for domains you choose and their subdomains, so a quiet timer, Stop button, and blocked-tab warning can appear on the active study page. Previously granted access remains until you revoke it in Microsoft Edge or use Delete all data and reset.
Social-media requests, including embedded social resources, are blocked locally during focus and unblocked during breaks, pauses, or after stopping. The extension does not inspect request bodies. Navigation and tab restoration cause the browser to visit the selected websites; those sites process requests under their own privacy policies. Reopening a URL can revisit or repeat a website action, so avoid backing up action or sensitive links.
No goals, receipts, tab backups, or other extension records are uploaded to developer servers. Avenquiet has no analytics, advertising, data sale, or developer-server integration, and executes no remotely hosted code. Records are not shared by the extension with third-party analytics providers. Microsoft Edge Add-ons and the public site hosting this policy may independently process requests under their own policies.
Retention and deletion
History retains the newest 100 receipts. There is no automatic age-based expiration. Saved URLs remain until restored or discarded. Settings and the most recent goal remain until changed or reset. Volatile focus confirmation is kept only for the current browser session.
Clear history deletes receipts and their reflections only. Restore tabs or Discard saved URLs removes the corresponding backups. Delete all data and reset stops focus, removes blocking rules, erases all extension-local and session storage, and revokes optional website access. It does not close open tabs or erase the browser's own history, cookies, website storage, profile backups, or records belonging to other software. Uninstalling also removes the extension's storage according to Microsoft Edge's normal behavior.
Security and limitations
Data uses Microsoft Edge extension storage, not developer-managed encrypted storage. Anyone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to access local records. Protect your device and do not use this extension to store secrets. No software can guarantee complete security. Private windows are not covered, and you can stop or disable the extension at any time.
